What it is actually like
You own the file
One person carries a shipment from quote to proof of delivery. Nothing gets handed to a queue, which is the whole reason customers move to us.
The phone rings
Freight happens on other people timezones. Somebody is awake for every sailing, on a rota, and it is paid.
Bad news travels first
Telling a customer their container rolled before they find out is the job. Nobody here is punished for surfacing a problem early.
Small team, no layers
The person who books the freight talks to the person who files the entry by turning round. No account managers relaying messages.
